Starting at the main square in Zagreb (xxx), you are going to be climbing pretty much straight away with little time to spin the legs.  This route takes you to Sljeme, the summit of Medvednica Mountain that stands tall over Zagreb.

After a rest at the top, the route takes you east along the ridge of the mountain and then back down the otherside before looping back towards Zagreb through peaceful villages that feel a world away from the bustle of the city.
